About Spiritual Warfare

Humankind has created many weapons across history. Some are still used, while others have been laid aside because they no longer serve the battle before us. Spiritual warfare is different. Whether believers choose to recognize it or not, the war continues. The enemy is not waiting for our permission to attack. Satan wages war against every part of life, both spiritual and natural, seeking to weaken faith, damage relationships, confuse purpose, and pull hearts away from God.

Every soldier must be trained before entering battle. Training teaches a soldier how to stand, how to endure, how to recognize danger, and how to use the weapons placed in his hands. In the same way, believers must learn how to stand in the armour of God. The armour of the Lord gives the believer the ability to resist the enemy and wage warfare in the spiritual realm. Those who are clothed in armour have a clear advantage over those who are unarmed, unaware, or unprepared.

This boot camp is designed to teach students how to understand and use the whole armour of God with wisdom, discipline, and spiritual maturity. The goal is not fear. The goal is readiness. The goal is not religious performance. The goal is relationship, obedience, discernment, and victory through Christ.

The most powerful weapon ever revealed is love. Love is not weakness. Love is not passivity. Love is the force that caused Christ to endure the cross, forgive sinners, restore the broken, and defeat darkness without becoming darkness. This series teaches the proper application of spiritual warfare and explores the relationship between marriage, discipleship, and the weapons God has given His people.

All warfare is difficult. I have trained for jungle warfare, desert warfare, urban warfare, and chemical warfare. Yet the most difficult war to fight is the one in which the enemy cannot always be seen with natural eyes. Spiritual warfare is the ultimate fight because much of the battlefield is internal. Pride, fear, anger, lust, bitterness, unforgiveness, confusion, and rebellion can become places where the enemy works if they are not surrendered to God.

God, in His wisdom and mercy, has equipped believers for the most complex battlefield in existence. Spiritual warfare involves discernment, obedience, submission, discipline, truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, the Word of God, prayer, and love. It is not won by human strength alone. It is won by learning to stand in the Lord and depend upon His power.

Gideon learned that the ultimate warrior is not defined by size, status, numbers, or human confidence. The true warrior is found in the heart of a believer who submits to God and His righteousness. Gideon did not win the battle by his own greatness. God won the victory through a surrendered servant who learned to obey. That is the heart of spiritual warfare. We do not fight to prove ourselves. We stand so God may show Himself mighty through those who trust Him.
